# Owner actions and remaining issues

Things only the business can confirm or provide. Nothing below was invented to fill a gap; where information was
missing, the page says less or the item stays unpublished.

## Must do before launch

1. **Contact email** — `info@duneechotours.com` is a placeholder carried over from the previous site. Set the real
   mailbox in `.env` (`CONTACT_EMAIL`).
2. **Domain and hosting** — choose a host with Python and a persistent disk (see DEPLOY.md), set `SITE_URL`,
`SECRET_KEY`, `DUNE_ENV=production`. The site is **not deployed**.
3. **First administrator** — `python manage.py create-admin you@…` on the server.
4. **Inquiry notifications** — inquiries are saved in the admin; no e-mail is sent when one arrives (no mail provider
configured). Check Admin → Inquiries daily, or ask a developer to add SMTP notifications.

## Content to verify (marked "Owner review" in the admin)

5. **15 Moroccan tours** — imported as published because they were public on the previous site. Re-confirm each
route, its day-by-day plan, inclusions/exclusions, driving distances and FAQ answers. Unpublish any you cannot run.
Tour titles exist in all 9 languages; the itineraries, inclusions and FAQs are in English/French/Spanish (from the
previous site) and show English with a notice in German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian and Chinese.
6. **The 10 activities with full pages from the previous site** (camel trekking, quad, buggy, 4x4, sandboarding,
desert trekking, oasis picnic, stargazing, Rissani, Khamlia): their "Good to know" facts (durations, inclusions,
market days) come from the old pages. Please re-confirm them. Their long text exists in English and French.
7. **The 8 new confirmed activities** (Overnight Desert Camp, Sunset & Sunrise Trips, Desert Photography Experience,
Fossils & Erfoud, Sunrise 4×4, Nomadic Family Visit, Dinner Under the Stars, Private Romantic Dinner) are published
with a name and a neutral one-line summary in 9 languages only. Add verified details (timing, meeting point,
inclusions) in the admin when you have them.
8. **4×4 Desert Excursion** — the previous page mentions a stop at the M'ifis quarry. "Mifis Mines Visit" is on your
unconfirmed list; confirm whether the 4x4 excursion really includes it or edit the text.
9. **Dune Echo Desert Camp** — the facility list ("Luxury and traditional Berber tents", "Campfire dinner and live
drumming", "Stargazing and sunrise over the dunes") comes from the previous homepage; confirm it. The previous
line "Private romantic and honeymoon setups" was removed because Romantic Setup is unconfirmed.
10. **Camp photographs** — the camp page now leads with your own photos (see "Your photographs" below). Some
secondary camp photos (tents with red rugs, tents under the Milky Way, lantern path) came with the previous
site; their origin is not recorded. Confirm they show your camp and that you own them, or upload real
photographs of Dune Echo Desert Camp. No caption on the site claims they are your property.
11. **Cancellation policy** — imported from the previous site, English only. It named a fixed fee in dollars; that
sentence now reads "an administrative fee stated in your written quote" because the brief forbids public prices.
    Confirm the policy wording.
12. **Starting points (ex-"packages")** — five are published. Three are held (*Pending Verification*):
"4x4 Off-Road Desert Tour" (mentions M'Fis mines), "Sahara Culture and Heritage Tour" (mentions bread-making,
overlapping Madfouna), "Romantic and Honeymoon Desert Setup" (overlaps Romantic Setup).
13. **Guest reviews** — the five reviews were in the previous project and are shown as Google reviews. Keep only if
they are genuine and you may reproduce them; hide any in Admin → Reviews.
14. **Founder photo and story** — "Our story" text and Amine's photo come from the previous site.
15. **Journal (9 articles)** — English only, imported unchanged (other languages show a notice).

## Weddings in the Merzouga Desert (published)

Confirmed by you on 2026-10-28 and published at `/<lang>/celebrations/wedding-merzouga/` in all 9 languages.
Reworded on 2026-10-29 as you asked: everything is described as **customizable and subject to confirmation for
your date**. The page says what *can be arranged* ("What we can arrange": a ceremony setting in the dunes, a dinner,
music, guest accommodation at Dune Echo Desert Camp *subject to availability*) and promises no specific facility,
vendor, inclusion or availability. **Transfers are mentioned only as "on request"**. **Photography is not
mentioned** (not confirmed). No prices. The legal side is described only as "separate from the celebration — ask
us". The photos are your own camp photos (no stock wedding images). Wedding enquiries arrive in Admin → Inquiries
as kind *event* with the number of guests. To change the text, edit the item in Admin → Events.

## The other proposed event services (still unpublished)

Romantic Setup · Marriage Proposal Setup · Moroccan Cooking Class · Berber Pizza / Madfouna Experience ·
Traditional Drumming Workshop · Mifis Mines Visit · 4×4 Car Museum Visit · Birthday / Anniversary Setup.

They are stored with status **Pending Verification**. To launch one: verify availability and partners, write the
details and translations, set status **Confirmed**, then press **Publish**.

The public Events & Celebrations page lists Weddings, plus Private Romantic Dinner and Dinner Under the Stars
(confirmed activities), and an enquiry form for other occasions, without naming any unconfirmed service.

## Your photographs (reviewed 2026-10-29)

You supplied 97 files. Each was sorted by where it came from; only photos that are clearly yours are on the site.

- **Prepared: 39 of your own photos** (phone and WhatsApp files such as `20240916_182434.jpg`, `IMG-…-WA…`,
`IMG_5915`, and two DNG Milky Way shots). 29 are on the site now (homepage, 9 activities, the camp, the wedding
page, 9 tours); 10 city photos (Fes souk, madrasa, Majorelle, Hassan Tower…) are ready for the destination and
culture pages of Phase 2. All get the same gentle grade (`tools/grade.py`): balanced exposure, soft highlights, natural
colour, night photos kept dark. Credits: `IMAGE-CREDITS.md`, "Dune Echo Tours".
- **Your photos left out on purpose (4):** the hotel pool at night and the film-studio columns (not our product),
the couple drinking tea and the man at the well (recognisable people; publish only with their consent).
- **Please confirm:** the tent interiors, the dining table and the camp views (`own-tent-*`, `own-camp-dining`)
show **Dune Echo Desert Camp**. The site presents them as the camp. Also confirm that photos sent to you on
WhatsApp were taken by you or by someone who agreed to their use.
- **Not published: 54 third-party files, permission unclear.** Instagram downloads and screenshots, including:
wedding photos from the Timimoun desert in **Algeria** (a wedding planner's posts), Algerian Sahara camping photos,
couples and a bride from "When your love is as wild as the desert", a solo traveller on the dunes, a Fes/Morocco
influencer series (19 files), a "Six days from Marrakech" camp series, Taghazout (not the desert), a sunset
series, an Instagram screenshot, two files named only with Instagram IDs, and `ia desert(1).jpg` (probably
AI-generated). To use any of them you would need written permission from the photographer; even then the Algerian
and other-company photos should not illustrate our services.

## Translations

- Interface (menus, buttons, forms, messages, fixed page text): complete in all 9 languages. They were written for
this project or carried over from the previous site; a native-speaker review is still recommended,
especially for Chinese, Ukrainian and Russian.
- The admin dashboard lists every item with a language marked "needs review".

## Known limitations

- Photo credits: 112 photos (plus one verified addition for Fossils & Erfoud) were hot-linked from Unsplash by the previous site. They are now self-hosted, with their
exact Unsplash URLs recorded. The photographers' names could not be recovered automatically (Unsplash blocks
automated page reads), so credit is not shown. The Unsplash License does not require attribution, but adding it is
  good practice. See IMAGE-CREDITS.md.
- No online payment or booking calendar (intentional: quotes are personal).
- Search is a simple text match over published titles and descriptions.
- Fonts are self-hosted (Cormorant Garamond, Jost; SIL Open Font License). Chinese uses the visitor's system fonts.
